Hollywood Hills Photo, Hollywood, California USA.
While memories of Hollywood were like memories of Huntington Beach until recently, an OK place but needed some upgrades, both destinations are looking great and several recent trips (conferences) in Hollywood have made us aware that it has some fantastic attractions, restaurants and beautiful scenery.
Pictured above are the hills with the setting sun behind them to the west. When you live in Southern California, you may get excited by a certain celebrity or entertainer but seldom do you drive to Hollywood to take a Starline Tour of the stars' homes or spend the night near Grauman's Chinese Theatre so that you can wake up to look out your window at the Hollywood sign. We're here to tell you that it's not a bad thing to do once in a while.
Several lovely hotels with fantastic accommodations such as Renaissance Hotel at Hollywood & Highland has modern suites with bright colors, very clean rooms, sweeping views in most rooms and a location to put you at the doorstep of the Kodak Theater where the Academy Awards are held. So what are you waiting for? It's time to go to Hollywood.

Greystone Mansion Beverly Hills - Hollywood Tours.
Greystone Mansion in Beverly Hills is an historic estate that's now owned and operated as an historic landmark by the City of Beverly Hills.
Its fabulous design English Gothic Revival from renowned Southern California Architect Gordon B. Kaufman. Completed in 1928 for the prominent Doheny family who made their fortune in oil. The mansion consists of of over 46,000 square feet of living space and includes lush flower gardens that grow year-round in the temperate Beverly Hills climate so familiar to this region not far downtown Los Angeles and the Southern California beaches.
Recognized as an historic landmark, the mansion and grounds were dedicated as a City of Beverly Hills public park in the 1970's, sparing the property from a fate of demolition to build a reservoir. The property serves as an ideal location for events, weddings and even film shoots. A display inside the mansion highlights its significance in Beverly Hills growth into a modern community.
Each year the Greystone Mansion hosts a Designer Showcase Tour, opening its doors to the public. This is one of the events throughout the year at this venue.
Given as a gift to Edward Doheny, Jr., there's a mystery that surrounds this interesting building. Hollywood ghost hunters have written about the case in which the owner was murdered in his beautiful home. The murder was never solved and some believe the spirit of "Ned", as he was called, continues to roam the mansion. Continuing this interesting saga, the Greystone Mansion was sold to Henry Crown of the Park Grey Corporation, Chicago, for $1.5 million. Crown never occupied the building.
Today, the land alone is worth millions of dollars and the City of Beverly Hills is delighted to own the property, having restored it to its original grace through fundraising events. The mansion includes terraced patios, flowing fountains and elegant wood treatments that adorn walls and staircases.
