Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood offers a world class entertainment thrill for those seeking more than just putting on a costume and playing trick or treat. 10 terror-filled nights begin on Friday, October 5.

Featuring three notorious madmen--Freddy Kruegerfrom from Friday the 13th, Jason Voorhees of A Nightmare on Elm Street and Leatherface of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, movie fans will understand why it's worth the price to pay for excitement and thrills that the professionals know how to create. They've succeeded in providing entertainment for close to 100 years.

While Orange County has had the Knott's Berry Farm themed Halloween, Los Angeles, the heart of the entertainment world, was missing such opportunities till Universal Studios Hollywood created this event. Mazes, horror icons and a new edition of the backlot Terror Tram, Halloween Horror Nights will create an intense interactive Halloween experience for those who can handle it.

Universal Studios

Universal Studios is a day of fun for everyone. From a Backlot Tramway Tour of actual stage sets for famous movies, to tapings, shows and live entertainment, this adventure is great for all ages. For those who don't enjoy tours but just need to stay with the group or family, you can spend your day around the piano bar of a CityWalk restaurant drinking espresso coffee or microbrew beers. When you buy your tickets to Universal Studios online, you don't have to waste time on the lines at the park. That's just more time to sip a latte and enjoy the Southern California sun.

Joining the ranks of entertainment malls and venues, CityWalk is Universal's answer to the trend of providing good food in a great atmosphere and supplying an abundance of merchandising carts and stores to browse about. Southern California weather is fantastic all year long. With only a few days of rain and mild temperatures Summer and Winter, tourists from other parts do not feel a need to be indoors. The one thing they enjoy the most is the weather, so these indoor/outdoor venues are allowing guests to shop and dine either in or outside.

For those who want to have fun, take a backlot tour on a tram ride with sets from Psycho, King Kong, Jaws, Lost World and Earthquake. Surprises and thrills for children and adults include a re-creation of a modern subway station in which the earth suddenly collapses and traps you in a world of toppled telephone poles, power cables, train wrecks and frightening gases. A runaway big-rig truck crashes within inches of you and spills its "highly flammable" contents. While caught in the underground subway set, you face a flood! This is but one of the adventures in which you can enjoy the ride and be entertained.

Location is just 10 minutes from downtown Los Angeles, the park is located of the 101 (Hollywood) Freeway, at Universal Center Drive or Lankershim Blvd exit.

Universal City is home to Universal Studios Hollywood. While the multi-million dollar empire of studios, shopping, entertainment and a theme park thrive today, this empire has been over 100 years in the making. When seeds to begin a self contained movie making community were planted in 1915, who would know that a converted chicken ranch would one day become an empire of vast riches with a wealth of companies that included CBS, NBC, Disney, Warner Bros., Universal City, Paramount, Capitol Records and A & M Records. If you haven't heard of them, you assuredly will when you visit Universal City, a community within the City of Los Angeles. As tourists from around the world hope to get a glimpse of a favorite actor or actress, modern day theme park rides and attractions have done much to foster an image and allure that gets folks to go pay the price of admission to visit Universal Studios.

What's interesting about this phenomenon is that founder Carl Laemmle figured it out over 80 years ago when people reportedly were charged a quarter for a box lunch and bleacher seat to watch his films being made. Today, guests dine on a variety of gourmet foods at restaurants in City Walk, buy stuff from the souvenir gift shops along the promenade and watch shows created specifically to entertain visitors as they ride on trolleys around the huge studios.

Carl Laemmle would be proud to visit his studio now, and learn that millions of people are interested in sharing the magic of fantasies created to entertain and sometimes educate. On a clear day, the skies are blue and the air is filled with excitement as thousands of cameras snap away, documenting the Universal experience.

Many great things have helped keep Universal near the top of the list as a theme park attraction. Public transportation is made easy via the MTA North Hollywood Subway which will take you from North Hollywood to Universal City and onto Hollywood's Walk of Fame.
